De Dutch was founded on a simple premise—that what you put into something is what you get out of it. That’s why, since our start in 1975, we’ve considered every detail and focused on quality in everything we do.

Whether it’s our traditional Dutch items, like pannekoeken, rusks, hail, or stroop, or our West Coast favourites, like smoked wild BC salmon, Cobs Bread, and local meats, we’re always looking to source de best of de best.

We know that fresh-pressed orange juice tastes better, that nitrate-free meats are better for you, and EQA eggs have better animal welfare standards. We choose our partners carefully because we believe that better food starts with better ingredients.

Founded in 1951, by brothers, Henry and Jacob Grimm, the company began as a small butcher shop on East Georgia St. in Vancouver, BC and has maintained their commitment to quality for over 70 years. Their combination of premium ingredients, traditional values, and desire to meet the ever-changing needs and tastes of consumers has guided their continuous growth. Today they offer a wide variety of deli products that can be found at retailers across Canada.

Egg Quality Assurance™

The EQA® certification mark signifies that eggs are produced by Canadian farmers who meet strict national standards for food safety and animal care. The certification mark acts as an instantly recognizable sign that eggs are local, high-quality, and certified.

Established in 1980, COBS Bread has since expanded from a multi-generational family business to over 700 bakeries around the world, including 145 across Canada. Using carefully sourced ingredients, no added preservatives, and baking their bread daily from scratch ensures the ultimate in quality and freshness. At the end of each day, they pay it forward by donating leftover baked goods to local charities.

Hertel Meats began in 1967 as a small family operation providing processing services to local farmers and hunters in Port Alberni, BC. From there, they quickly expanded and, in the 1980s, after noticing a need in the market, developed a line of fresh sausages processed without gluten, milk, or artificial preservatives, as well as their naturally smoked bacon cured without sodium nitrite, nitrate, or other chemical preservatives.
